577 When my sister was little, she was really scared of the Jersey Devil. It was kind of fun to scare her when we drove through the woods at night >:)

They say if you want to find weird stuff you go to New York. But the people in the know, know the really weird stuff is in Jersey. Surprisingly I use to work with a guy from Jersey that never heard of the Jersey Devil.

Ghosts are a decently big topic where I live (Rhode Island). Always fun to tell the stories about vam~pires~ (actually, it's kind of horrifying).

Better put a check in that last box, Megan. And maybe a half-dozen more for good measure...

I've... never heard of the Jersey Devil before.

And Helen, sweetie, I think you're asking too many questions too quickly. You need a limit on your questions.

Just because she hasn't seen the rest of those, doesn't mean the don't exist...

The only thing I heard in Minnesota are ghost stories, such as the one that was in the old location of the Guthrie Theater (though, it hasn't been reported in decades)

replies @SpecterHSC: Was he from North Jersey?

@Cave: What, like real vampires? I'm curious!

@Magnus Archon: Oh at least half-a-dozen ;)

@Shadow_Da_Hedgie: It's a legend that dates back to Colonial Times. A woman named Mother Leeds was pregnant with her 13th child. She cursed it and when it was born it became a demon that supposedly still lurks in the Pine Barrens to this day.
I've never seen it, but some of those woods can be preetty creepy

@DracheLehre: They probbaly do. Ghosts canonically exist (Trent was one for a brief period).

The story of Mercy Brown is the most famous. Of course, she wasn't actually a vampire. She died of consumption and when he brother got sick, they dug up her body thinking she was the cause of his illness. They took her heart and made it into a "medicine" for him, but of course, he died. Sad story...

My friends and I used to go on ghost hunts. I'd like to go again sometime. >< argh being an adult!
