Sorry for the lateness and lack of color.
I've been making some last minute tweaks to this scene.

Back on page 41 Adrian says that they used to be summoned by humans to fight their wars, but no longer are. Humans stopped praying to Shreer.

Most of the gods honor the agreement, but the trickster gods find loopholes. ^^

SFG Dialogue makes up for everything! Yet more interesting revelations. BTW, ever played Black and White, Butters? It's rather like this idea about gods.

This remind me very much of the gods of Greek mythology. They schemed and plotted and made decisions just like this. Though unlike these gods, they didn't actually "make" anybody to serve them. That was the work of the titan Prometheus.

@Grey_Wolf: yeah, the Greek gods were a definite inspiration for this. While I'm hardly an expert, I've always been interested in mythology
